Rename
the layer to Fairy. For this exercise, let??™s embed the FLV ?¬?le created in After
Effects into a movie clip symbol on the Flash Timeline. Since the duration of
the video is 5 seconds with no audio, the embedded FLV ?¬?le will not drastically
increase the ?¬?nal published SWF ?¬?le size (500 KB).
Select the blank keyframe on Frame 1 of the 41. Fairy layer.
184 Chapter 7: Character Animation
Select 42. File > Import > Import Video. The Import Video Wizard dialog box
appears. To import the FLV ?¬?le:
Locate the 3 FairyFlight.?¬‚v ?¬?le you rendered out of After Effects.
Set the deployment to 3 Embedded Video in SWF and Play in Timeline.
Set the Embedding type to a 3 Movie Clip.
Click 3 Finish to embed the video. The ?¬?rst frame of the video appears on the
Stage and a video symbol is added to the Library.
Figure 7.28: The embedded FLV ?¬?le plays back the animation inside a movie clip.
Save and test your movie. This completes the exercise. You covered a lot of 43.
ground in both of the parenting exercises. Hopefully you can see a bene?¬?t in
using parenting to assist with your character animation.
Let??™s review some of the key concepts from this exercise. Parenting is assigning
one layer or layers to another parent layer.
